A microprocessor , in layman's language , is a small chip whose task is to compute billions of mathematical calculations per second.

Typically, no. You can not change the CPU in a laptop except in very rare cases, and even then there is usually some warranty-endangering actions needed to get it done.

It all makes sense, but the fact that so many pieces fit into such tiny chips is phenomenal.

so basically microprocessors are like fancy pieces of silicon that do nothing but move data and do math on said data.
